2021 is drawing to a close and colleagues are preparing for their well-deserved holiday. On 6th December, TOGI staff gathered to celebrate a year worth celebrating. The Directors of the Two Oceans Graduate Institute invited employees to commemorate all their efforts and to reflect on a wonderful year.
TOGI End of Year Function
A festive meal, the exchange of pleasantries, and secret Santa were promised and all delivered. As an online institution, we rarely meet our colleagues in person. But on this day, we came together for our end-of-year function. Some were greeted in person for the first time, broke bread together and overindulged at the dessert table. However, the event quickly became bitter-sweet.
We were informed of two individuals who will be leaving the institution. All of us wish you the best for your journeys ahead and thank you for your contribution to this institution.
Our CEO, Lourens Erasmus continued to thank all employees for their valuable input into Two Oceans Graduate Institute.
“Thank you for each colleague’s contribution to making this institution a success. All of you are a valuable part of this team”.
Reflection on the key moments of 2021
2021 was a momentous year for TOGI. With our key mission in mind, to provide quality education for all, each effort and occurrence brought us one step closer. To name a few:
- We had our first graduation
- Inauguration of chancellor and CEO
- Our second graduation on the 18th of December 2021
- Our first year offering a PGCE.
- Significant student growth
- Appointment of a new registrar and new Head of Department
- Submissions of new qualifications
Preparing for the next year
TOGI continues to grow. In 2022, we will receive the biggest intake of students yet, hitting the 1000 student mark with only two courses, our PGCE and BEd Intermediate phase. We are expecting to receive the good news of approved accreditation for the BEd Foundation phase soon.
We are grateful for a blessed 2021 in difficult times. After a challenging but rewarding year, we prepare for a season of rest. We encourage you to take time to reflect, to rest and return prepared for the year to come. Thank you for your constant support.
