Dear TOGI Students
The President announced last night a further two weeks extension of the lockdown period until the end of April. This situation has a variety of consequences and you and your loved ones have to deal with it in various ways. I pray and trust that you and your families are in good health. Live one day at a time. Let us climb the Covid-19 mountain just step by step. Just do what you need to do each day. Let us all live conscientiously in these days and weeks, in a thorough and responsible way. Be with yourself, and be with your loved ones.
Take care of your studies in each module you are registered for. Our online mode of delivery paves the way to stay up to date with your studies in a time when other universities are closed. Our plan is in place that you can proceed with Teaching Practice. Residential institutions had to cancel their students’ teaching practice. I, therefore, urge you: make the best of this difficult time. May you experience that constructive work will energise you and bring vitality to your day, even in a difficult period.
I wish you well. Communicate with your lecturers, or with the HOD Dr Westraadt, or with Mrs Jattiem, our Registrar. You can also communicate with Ms. Ryklief on the online student support portal.
Warm regards
Dr Lourens Erasmus
